(together &#8220;DERON&#8221;). The acquisition is supported by Harald Quandt Industriebeteiligungen GmbH (&#8220;HQIB&#8221;), majority shareholder of Medical Equipment Group.<\/p>\n<p>DERON is the leading supplier of medical mattresses and beds for the prevention and treatment of pressure ulcers in the Netherlands. In addition, DERON positions itself as an innovation leader and differentiates itself from its competitors in the market with circular mattresses and digital solutions for the healthcare sector, among others.<\/p>\n<p>The current boards of DERON, Funke Medical and Medical Equipment Group remain unchanged. Simone and Wilfried Grimberg, founders of DERON, are taking a minority stake in Medical Equipment Group.<\/p>\n<p>DERON and Funke Medical will remain operationally independent with their brands and will cooperate in the future according to the common group strategy. The long-term cooperation between HQIB, Funke Medical and DERON is aimed at sustainable growth for the group, both through organic growth and further acquisitions.<\/p>\n<p>Further details of the transaction were not disclosed.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Our goal when establishing the Medical Equipment Group in 2021 was to successfully develop Funke Medical as the core of a new group of companies, to drive internationalisation and to make targeted moves in strategically important areas, especially innovation and technology.
